Just until Fantilli gets his feet wet….Boone is just a stop gap til Fantilli is more comfortable at 1C

Missing Berni and Bjork too, and Bjorgvik-Holm has also shown some nice things. Knazko will be third pair.

Beniers also played two years at Michigan and Fantilli only had one. I do think Fantilli is a similar player with even more skill, and could be in the Calder running this year, but starting him on the top line is a bit ambitious.

They'll feed him all the minutes he can handle. Time will tell how quickly he can adjust to the NHL. I'd peg him for 20-25-45 with about 16min TOI for his rookie year.

Jost & Newhook did only 1yr while Makar did 2yrs, and you see the difference. I just think Fantilli is so good, like Eichel good.

Agreed. He should be in the Calder running this year, just not sure he has quite the production that Beniers had. I do think he'll take over the 1C job before the end of the season, but I don't think he'll start there, nor should he. The smart move is putting him on the 2nd line to control his minutes a little more while still giving him talented wings to play with.
