I don't think that is close, but I gotta give you credit for not doing 5million retenion like most other people. I think you gotta add some picks or even more relatively NHL ready prospects like Raty, etc.

No team is eating his full contract. Retain a few million on him, not Labanc, and then maybe we consider it. At which point the Sharks probably want more.

Decent idea with the NSH trade. I'd do it. Or more realistically a 1 for 1 of Beau and Carrier.

Friedman said the retention discussion is ~40%. If that is the case, Grier would cream his pants to be able to take this deal to the owners.

The money would be a huge boon to SJ but obviously if they are comfortable retaining and could get a massive haul, I could totally understand why they would do that. At the same time, if he won't waive his NMC for many teams and Sharks still move him, the return could be light.

Totally get the retention. I could have gone Barbanov instead but I was thinking about expanding the Myers deal rumored to be on the table. Sharks definitely get a lot if they retain a large amount.

I'd prefer Fabbro to Carrier for various reasons about his game and Carrier has only had one season on his resume. The RFA status for Fabbro is a huge plus over Carrier as well.

Allvin sold EK that they are a playoff team Much like the FO keeps saying about the team's approach to this season. Although, sometimes I wonder if Allvin is doing a good job with lip service to keep ownership happy while slow playing a rebuild.

Well I also agree that Fabbro is preferred within Vancouver, but I think Carrier is the more movable asset in Nashville. I think from their perspective it's more realistic, though the value on each is going to be similar.
