Description

I know some TOR fans will think this forward group stinks- but go watch highlights of Bobby McMann, this guy plays fast and heavy and GOES TO THE NET. He will fit this new team identity perfectly.

I don't mind the idea of Nick Robertson on a line with Ryan Reaves...

Love the idea of the "London Knights Line".

3rd line of McMann, Kampf, Lafferty is a big, long, fast, hard forechecking, grinding, 3rd line that plays with speed and gets the puck up the ice and into the other teams zone. Kampf and Lafferty can both play centre making it a decent defensively responsible line.

Leafs get a much needed big, defensive RD. Big cap hit that doesn't help CHI win any time soon, but could be very useful to TOR.

Blackhawks have cap space to sign Nylander to a long extension in his prime to play with Bedard. Liljegren, also an RD, is on a great deal, is ready for a bigger role, and will hit his prime at the same time as the rest of CHI's young talent pool. CHI takes Murray in this deal because a) they need a goalie this season, and b) it's the only way the money works for TOR. I know Murray hasn't been great but he brings a good veteran presence and an upgrade from Mrazek which will help the young players on the team.

You may very well be right. I suppose it depends on how badly he wants to win; it's probably still going to be a few years until the Blackhawks are legit contenders.

Seth isn’t worth 9 mill. I’d rather them get Elias lindholm and zadorov (stronger bigger d not offensive but will people move infront of the net ) in a swap for nylander and Murray and a couple prospects and if Sammy signs for 2.5 instead of 3 they make the cap hit

Hawks aren't interested. Nylander has been underpaid for so long and watched his teammates make bank. He's gonna want a ridiculous contract that'll end up being worse than jones. Much rather overpay a top pair RD than a 2nd line RW

2nd line RW? Are you trolling? He banked 40 goals and 87 points this season, and another 10 points in 11 playoff games. To compare, Panarin makes 11.6m and put up 29 goals in the regular season and 2 points in 7 playoff games. Nylander is an elite player and better than most 1st line wingers in the league, he'll probably get 7x10m somewhere and he will be worth every penny. "Hawks aren't interested" ...yikes....

Why would leafs (or any team) want anything to do with Seth Jones? Good player - but arguably the worst value contract in the league. First - he ain’t getting moved, but if he is - no chance that’s the return for Willy.

Hawks decline. Seth isn't waiving to play in Canada, but even if he did, Hawks still pass. If reports of Nylander wanting $10m a year are accurate, Hawks aren't paying anyone that kind of money this early in their rebuild. Kyle from Chicago as much as said so. He wants to maintain maximum flexibility with the Hawks salary cap.

If the Hawks were interested in a top 2nd tier winger they would've kept, or traded back for debrincat a player who'll put up the same or more goals but has way more heart.
