No chance Dubas gives up that much for Ullmark. Boston has no cap space they aren't getting good value on him and if some other GM offers that let them.

I doubt Ullmark gets a first. While Ullmark is coming off a Vezina win, goalie values are weird, and he doesn't have "reputation".

It might be an overpay. Originally had him signed for 3x4, but I also know there will be several teams looking to sign him cause he's still only 24 years old. Only reason he got bought out was because Detroit is now approaching cap limits too.

Very possible. I looked at it as what is sure to get the deal done and that definitely would. As far as what would be perfect world probably just giving up the second or even just a third, but I do not see that happening could be a 2nd/3rd combo though.

I don't know how you've been following Ullmark, but he's been above average goalie for the past 5 years now. Also, KK is about the same as DeSmith and the reason to trade for him is to help free up room to fit under cap

That Yamamoto contract is one of the more interesting signings I've seen on this platform lol. You also only have a 20 man roster

TSN Insider Darren Dreger reported the Red Wings did consider keeping Yamamoto, but couldn’t make it work with the plans they were making. - Also while they have 27 mil they have 7 positions needed to be filled plus depth so 10 total...... thats 2.7 mil per player. KY was 3.1 mil cap hit. So, yeah cap issues

Even if we signed 4 players at 5 mil a piece we still have 7-8 mil in cap room. Didn't fit Yzermans plans

If you did that you'd have 6 players to sign at about 1.1 mil good luck with injuries that are bound to happen throughout the year. Plus it tells me that Stevie Y is planning something big big, so maybe be excited about it there bud.

Who knows. We have a ton of players still playing on ELC's. We could end up with Cat, ROR, Killorn and decent goalie. Still not sure that would help us

So to be quite clear, I personally would value Ullmark, but I don't think he gets valued that much around the league. As I said goalie values around the league are often odd. Plus Boston is in a crappy cap situation as shown by them having to nearly give Hall away, so they lose leverage.

Simply put if someone wanted him at 3.1 million, they'd have had him for free. Edmonton had to give DRW Kostin to agree to take Yamomoto to buy him out.
