Wow, as bad as Foegle/Jarnkrok exchange for the Leafs is bad, trading a first for the very middling Dvorak is poor idea. Surely just as good centres can be obtained cheaper.

Jarnkrok v Foegele

What are the odds that Jarnkrok shoots 18.82% next season?

Probably not so good. But Foegle cost 625,000 to the cap strapped Leafs, and Jarnkrok has a 10 no trade list which I assume would include poor travel cities .

He has a good shot. Even is his goal totals are down he still does a lot well. I like Foegele but I would take Jarnkrok. Jarnkrok is smarter and just a better hockey player.

Toronto might be more central, but Edmonton doesn't have to deal with Pearson every time they travel! Very Angry

Do you think the players travelling on private jets need to deal with the long lines at customs? lol.

They still have to clear customs. They just don't need to deal with security (if they're flying out of the north terminal).

They have their own private custom agents. Only the peasants like you and I wait in lines.

I'm not sure the Leafs do either. When they charter at least to some destinations, believe they take downtown Bishop airport.
I think travel is big concern to players especially those with families. The Metro division very cosy, especially the three "New York teams". Atlantic pretty cosy too except for the Tampa and Florida.
That Central.....West to Phoenix, east to Nashville and north to Winnipeg....a killer. The West Coast teams aren't so bad, in the Pacific but certainly the Oilers and Flames have a lot of travel to get to the West Coast.
I don't know if Pearson is so bad......but Air Canada is. It's really fallen off the board as a good airline, as has West Jet. Teams take charter flight so they don't have to deal with "the public" or airlines.
Hamilton is a nice airport forty minutes south west from Pearson and is really under-utilized.
To me, I don't understand how hockey and basketball players handle the travel. It's not a game a week in football, or three or four days in playing a series in baseball. It's often one and done on the road and back on the plane.

Recent experiences with both Pearson and AC tell me the problem is two-fold. Pearson just can't handle the volume through security and yeah, AC is abysmal. Not many options for intra-country travel outside AC and WJ though. Hopefully Porter gets some long range jets soon.

Seems like fifty years ago we had more airlines in North America that we have now.....and they all had jets. Our options as customers has declined as have the cities our "national airline" flies too.
