Honestly, if you are asking me what I think the Leaves will do? I think they will start a new streak of not making it out of the first round of the playoffs. Maybe go a solid 20 years.

It could work if the Jackets are good with moving Johnson to C. However, not sure the Jackets are motivated to move their 1st next year.

They have an aggressive GM. New coach. New number 1 centre. Two top 4 defencemen. I think they want to make the playoffs and win now. Pens, Caps, Flyers, and Islanders can't compete with their roster. Their only competition in the division are New Jersey, Carolina and Rangers. So Columbus could be a wild card team next season.

Jackets don't have room for another big-ticket winger. Gaudreau, Laine, Marchenko are all capable of scoring 40G, maybe someday Fantilli and/or Johnson too.

But if Johnson moves to C, it is possible. I don’t personally see this happening but it could fit if they went that direction.

Honestly though, the Jackets still need to extend Johnson and Marchenko next summer. Doubt Jarmo commits this much money to him. I see more cost saving moves now and go big game fishing next summer.

We'll see. The return could be underwhelming considering he's asking for 9 million plus, and most teams who could use a guy like him don't have the cap to make it work.

If Dubois got $8.5M, Willy easily worth $9M. Leafs ‘can and will’ afford him

i'd go 4th or 5th personally. He's a bottom 6 forward, and the leafs are trying to free up space. He turns 32 before the season starts and his contract has a MNTC which makes him harder to move.
