Schiefele doesn't fit the window of the team. Sending resources of any kind to get him right now isn't the play. Plus someone who is looking to put themselves over the top would offer more for him

It's really good value for us I agree but I just don't think we are buying rentals and especially rentals with the locker room issues that could be linked with Scheifele. I don't think it would be something Yzerman would want to expose the young talent to. If it was just the player I would do it in a heartbeat but you have everything that goes along with the player as well.

I don't think that is the case with Scheifele. He and Wheeler are very good friends so I don't think wanting out of Winnipeg was ever an issue. Scheifele and Wheeler are the ones bullied Laine into asking for a trade. 40 goals or not Yzerman doesn't put up with s*** like that and I seriously doubt he'd bringing either of them to Detroit. There is no way Detroit trades Lombardi for a year of Scheifele. Even if he had 5yrs left I still wouldn't trade Lombardi to get him.
