Yeah I don't see Marner signing an extension with the blues in 2 years and we will probably suck during the years that he is here so it's a no deal for the blues.

Why wouldnt he sign with the Blues? They have 2 studs in Kyrou and Thomas and Mitch will make close to 11 mil AAV which STL will pay him. No brainer if you ask me.

Kapanen is not a top six forward, and is not reliable for consistent point production.

Marner already played hard to get with his childhood team so I don't expect any different with st louis on his next extension. Plus the blues don't really do the big salary bonuses structures which is very vital to players like Marner, Matthew, etc..... Also the blues defense sucks so we need to rebuild that and it will take a while so I don't expect us be contending these next two years. We might be a playoff bubble team at best and don't think that appeals to Marner at all. Also our GM doesn't like super high priced players, his whole philosophy is death by a thousand cuts so Marner doesn't fit his philosophy. Look at what happened with Pietrangelo and the blues. Also if we trade Schenn to get Marner we now need a 2C as well as revamping the whole defense. Just too many holes to fix and wingers ironically are our strongest position. Marner and the blues is not a fit for a variety of reasons

Wow, this site is very ridiculous. A nobody in Kapanen and a legit terrible contract in Schenn for Marner. This is just ridiculous at this point. Hell you could flip Marner for 300% more than you are giving up.

It's a nobrainer no for TO. A declining but still with term Schenn and Kapanen are nothing. A 1st is nice but it doesn't help TO win now. This is a terrible trade.
