I don't think Treliving has any interest in Tanev, especially at that price. He's been reported to be in on Sanheim, so he's probably looking for guys that are 26-28 if he's giving up a significant package.

He probably is a good fit since he's basically a RHDed Brodie but like Schenn - he's proven to be a fit albeit a small sample size- he's 33 and won't be a long term solution. Definitely, would be too high of a price to pay, especially when they could just sign Schenn at a similar or lower cap hit for a couple of years and it won't have cost them anything more.

If available I could see interest in Zadorov in a similar deal.

I wouldn't trade the first or Niemela for Tanev, and you traded both.

Add Lindholm or Toffoli and Toronto would be more willing I bet.
