And? They are stop gaps while we wait for our prospects to develop. The blues biggest strength in terms of roster and prospects is the wings. The biggest weakness is the center depth and defense. Debrincat does nothing for either. So why waste assets upgrading something that's already a strength for us. The blues are retooling for the next year or 2. It makes little sense to sign Debrincat to an extension for big money and then waste the first 2 years of the extension. Plus now that we have committed big money to him we have less to fix the defense and less assets as well. Basically Debrincat doesn't solve anything for the blues and we would still suck even with him on the team. Look for another team to peddle him off to
