I think you're pretty far off to be honest.

Parker is a nothing.
Brannstrom is a bottom pairing guy
Mandolese is an ok prospect, but won't out duel Dostal.

Asking for a second back with Gibson is just crazy.

OTT would have to add a first and a very good prospect (removing the other peices and the 2nd coming back)

It's definitely an absolutely not, but where do all these rumors of Gibson not wanting to play in Canada come from? I've heard it from a few people, but have never heard it come from him / his agent / people in NHL circles.

I know Ottawa needs a goalie, and with no draft picks in the first three rounds this year the #33 overall pick would be a nice bonus, but I don't like Gibson's contract. This is not a huge price to pay for him -- Brannstrom is the most valuable asset Ottawa would be giving up, and with the uncertainty around him being an unsigned RFA with arbitration rights, he's probably not worth more than the 2nd-round pick himself -- but Gibson could very easily become a negative asset, and Ottawa can't afford that with all the big contracts they have, so I think I'd try to squeeze some salary retention out of Anaheim if I was Ottawa. Though from Anaheim's perspective, if they have a chance to trade Gibson without retention, that's probably worth more to them than any prospects or players they can get, and perhaps they feel that if they're throwing in the draft pick, that should be enough enticement to take him without retention.

No way anybody gives up a 1st and a very good prospect for Gibson. He’s one of the highest paid goalies in the league, and he’s been on the decline for the past few seasons. That may be more the team’s fault than his, but it affects his trade value. He wouldn’t get 4x$6.4M if he was a UFA now, so why would anybody give up valuable assets in a trade for that contract?

It's gonna be a very interesting goalie carousel this offseason. Ultimately it's gonna take a team with a certain analytics/scouting department that either loves Gibson or thinks they can fix/insulate him in their system for a trade to happen. That being said, Gibson's salary is not prohibitive at the moment to the Ducks' salary cap structure and therefore they will not be looking to attach assets to a trade just to move him unless it makes the return that much better. Brannstrom still has time to turn into something at the NHL level, but if the Ducks wanted someone of his profile (and I'm not convinced they're looking for more smaller defensemen) then I think they can find a Brannstrom type at 33OA. Ducks respectfully decline.

If if turns out there is no market for Gibson, and Anaheim can get out of the contract for the 33rd pick, it would be something to consider. None of the players in Ottawa's side have any value. Like most #6-7D Brannstrom might be worth a 4th round pick.

I don't think Ottawa would want to risk being stuck with that contract with Gibson's level of play. If they take a question mark, if needs to be a different kind of question mark. Someone who maybe doesn't have Gibson's ceiling, but also won't cripple them cap wise if it doesn't work out. Similar to what they did with Talbot.

This. It's a near flat cap. Ottawa already made that mistake once with Murray. They aren't in a position to risk getting tied up with a huge goalie contract for anybody but a sure thing.

I don't think anybody is giving up major assets for Gibson. Getting out of that contract cleanly while only giving up 33rd overall would be great value for Anaheim if they think they can leverage that cap. They may not need the though and might be fine with just riding it out.
