My sweet heavenly father, three trades on this site that make sense for both sides and have appropriate returns....

It's a sign of the end times....

Edit: I'm glad you brought back Berg even though he's 90% going to retire. Couldn't be 100% realistic. smile

That PIT trade makes absolutely zero sense for BOS and that return is pathetic

Hall and Griz provide much more value to BOS than a 3rd rounder and a middle 6 AHLer, way more value going to PIT and that trade would make BOS so much worse

If BOS trades Ullmark, theyre not taking back a 3rd pairing Dman making almost 3mill, theyve had plenty of those mistakes already

Well they aren't moving Skinner obviously, and if they move Campbell it will be for cap purposes and they'll be looking to bring in a cheap 1B, not a starter. I just don't see any scenario where "Ullmark to Edmonton" makes sense.

It makes zero sense to move 9.5MM when your team is incredibly cap strapped? I imagine both will go for around a third so this makes sense.

If Boston trades Ullmark they won't get much. He has exactly 1 season where he was above a 1 WAR goalie and most of his seasons he has a negative WAR during 5v5 play. He does not have the history to suspect this year was more than an aberration. He will be traded on speculation alone.

It makes zero sense to move 2 guys who are valuable to Boston for next szn for absolutely nothing. Thye could easily buyout a couple guys, sign some cheap vets, and bring up some kids from Providence and have a more competitive team that giving away their top 6 winger and top 4 Dman for garbage

I suspect Boston will struggle to get into the playoffs this season. Relying on guys from the AHL is a bad strategy. Who will Boston buy out? Who will trade value for Hall who was injured and not worth his price tag for the last few seasons?

Bostons gonna struggle to make the playoffs this year no matter what roster they ice, AHL guys are cheapest and they might as well see what they got.

Buyout Reilly, Forbort. Dont have to trade Hall, especially not for nothing. Even so, there are definitely teams with packages better than that

Oh maybe. Maybe someone wants Hall but he hasn't been good since 2017 / 2018 season. He was ok last year but 20 goals for a 6MM guy ain't gonna cut it.

I can't see a path for Boston with Hall, Ullmark/Swayman (both), Gryz, Forbort, or any of their UFAs.

Oh I absolutely agree, Hall is pretty bad IMO, but perhaps top 6 role will elevate his game (assuming he stays)

Ullmark and Sway are gonna cost around 9mill, which BOS cannot afford this szn, so 1 of them is gone for sure IMO, and others (Reilly/Forbort/Grz/Zboril/Hall/Freddy/Coyle/JD) will be moved for cheaper options
