Alright so you trade your top pairing defenseman and a 1st for two guys on your third line, a guy on your bottom pairing, and a 2nd.

How does this get the Avs closer to winning a cup? Not sure I understand it.

Avs can find depth in UFA or offer sheets. Even if Toews' extension rolls into the season, the Avs should pass on offers that are not for equivalent star talent.

Toews is an elite 1st pairing defenseman.

Wtf is that Toews trade? COL isn’t doing that trade if they aren’t sending a 1st. This is god awful for COL.

The reason why they get those 3 players is because they already got there 2 top 6 players with domi and barbashev signed.

There losing toews so they need another dmen that's and the avs bottom six was horrible last season and this upgrades them.
