I'm looking at draft right now and we can say that the top 4 is pretty clear right now:

Bédard, Fantilli, Carlsson, Smith

Now for the 5th OVR, the habs need to make a decision : Michkov.

I don't need to repeat all the Pros and Cons, but I'll go on another factor that might influence the decision: PLD.

If the habs get PLD - it speeds up their rebuild significally and brings in another physical presence, the whole which reminds me of the Slafkovsky draft video where Boucher said that he was OK with drafting Slaf if it meant being able to pick the BPA with no regards with size.

Thus, should the Habs get PLD, I can see them go for a smaller player like Benson who is a great playdriving 2-way winger that is more NHL ready, due to his defensive prowess. OR, for a missing piece : a good RHD prospect in Reinbacher

While if we don't get PLD - the rebuild is not ready for another 2-3 years... which makes the Michkov pick a lot more worth it! and then picking a good Dman in 2024 which is predicted to be a good D draft.

I don't think Molson wants another 3 year of rebuild... neither do the players.

That is my 2 cents.

I don't know what the trade will be and if PLD is willing to sign a contract smaller than Suzuki...
