I think Guentzel's numbers are inflated because of who he plays with, also doesn't fit the age of Sens window and they likely wouldn't be able to extend him after this season with the raise he will want.

I think the Sensators would accept with no retention and Buffalo's 2023 2nd instead.

The 2023 1st would not be included in that Buffalo trade. Neither player is worth 14OA. Maybe if you did a 2nd or 3rd rounder.

This team would be really interesting, I think you did a good job here except for the buffalo deal, the pens 2023 1st is vast overpayment there. Needs to probably be a 2nd rounder, 2024 1st at the most and i still don't think those two are worth a 1st rounder.

Poehling at 3C is interesting, he has the speed and i'd be curious to see what he can bring with more minutes honestly.

Guentzel at 3mil would certainly open up interesting options for Ottawa this season cap wise, but unless Ottawa thinks they can win the Cup THIS season (I do not think this) there's absolutely no way you can take this deal. Their chances on extending Guentzel wouldn't be much better than DeBrincat, and frankly the prospect of giving 30 year old Jake Guentzel a big retirement contract isn't very appealing to begin with.

Why would pens retain on Guentzel? Does not make any sense
