Sujet: Cup Likely hood according to playoff windows

I've used a lot of averages (average playoff window, average window of SC winning teams, and what year of the window teams won the cup) and discovered that most teams win the SC 4.97778 years into their window and are most likely to win the cup from years 5-11 of the playoff window. According to this the Bruins and Leafs are most likely to win the SC, with the Avalanche, Knights and Jets in the second tier of likely hood, and the Hurricanes, Panthers, and Oilers are in the third tier of least likely to win the SC. Your completely ignoring the point that they were making about cap retention. Zucker at 5.5=No value-Zucker at 2.75=3rd round pick-Zucker at 1.4=1st round pick (I’d say a 2cnd+low value player but that’s just me). Any player at 50% retention is more valuable than at full contract. If you want a comparable, look at mike Hoffman being traded to FLA after OTT traded him to SJS. His value was higher because he was acquired for a price and a team won’t flip a player for less than acquired on a short time span (especially with retention)

The problem isn’t that he’s not good, it’s that he isn’t worth 5.5M and doesn’t pair well with Sid or geno. He is still a good top 6 option that works better with finishers and isn’t compatible with other play drivers.

Why not, I know that they have a hole at 3rd pairing LHD cause Nemeth isn’t doing too well, and I know they have a lot of young defensemen but Dumo fits their team identity very well and would allow whoever he plays with a lot of offensive freedom

I disagree, for the past 2-3 seasons the pens have played GREAT without him and played a great defensive and well coached style, but when Malkin comes back the game plan goes to out scoring the opponent and team defense goes out the window which is terrible in the playoffs
