Boston needs cap space and they also need to fill their lineup. This deal does both at a minimum cost. If Boston just wants to get cap relief with no players coming back, it probably costs them more.

Once again Juuse Saros isn't getting moved for Alex DeBrincat.

NSH needs to add

They can clear out $5 million simply buying out Forbort & Reilly. Another $3.7 million if they move out Grz for futures. They can move Ullmark and his $5 million hit and get assets back. There are numerous paths the Bruins can take. Getting bent over in a deal like the one you have proposed is not one of them. Hall is still a very good player and multiple teams would be interested in adding him. Thinking you can only give up a depth forward while getting a 50-60pt player + a 3rd is insane.
