Big overpayment for an unnecessary move by the Leafs. Minten is the Leafs only centre prospect, Niemela really their only Dman prospect.
Really just added 8.5m with those two Flyers. Surely the Leafs could spend 8.5m in UFAs, and not lose any of those five assets. But of course the silliness starts thinking the Leafs can just bury Murray and Brodie and LTIR.

He/she declines when you threw in Frost. The thing I see is that the flyers are going to run into a problem with too many B+ prospects eventually. Trading with them sooner is better because the value of your B prospects are higher, until we can’t use them anymore. If you’re asking for Frost back, that’s fine. But this trade doesn’t have any blue chips. The 3 best assets in the trade would be what the flyers are giving up (unless you think Voit is the real deal). The prospects and picks you have don’t grade out much better than what every other organization has. You’re just adding quantity to try to prove a point.

Exactly! Trade is fine as is but adding in frost is a total joke. This is quantity with no quality we already have 10 prospects that could play in the bottom or middle 6 adding 3 more doesn’t help anything

Sorry, that is quite silly logic. "Do whatever you want with them" They both have M NTC and finding team to on their trade list who wants to take on their cap is probably impossible. Hence the title of this site.....

I hate to tell you that the Flyers would love the trade. Five young assets, plus 8.5m in cap. That gets you a lot of good UFAs. Laughton is fair value at 3m, but finding those players isn't difficult. Konecky finally had a good season, but traditionally he's a 50 to 55 point guy.

I actually don’t disagree. I agree it’s barely enough, but as it currently stands, we could use all those prospects. If we start selling off and getting decent prospects, the ones you think are valuable, are going to be about the same value as the ones we could get from other teams. Keep your Mintens, Voits, and robertsons if they have value to you. As soon as you trade them to an organization with better depth, they aren’t as valuable

I do agree on the quantity over quality. When you see something like this fans often would rather have a mid first + goof player + top prospect instead. But i think in this case it’s too unrealistic of quantity that it would never happen. If a Konecny trade to the leafs happens it will likely cost Knies. Which leafs would just walk away from and sign someone in FA.

I think some form of TK for Liljegren plus a 1st and 2nd could get the deal done. But being realistic none of ur prospects are that good aside from Liljegren or Knies

Well yes they are prospects. Looking off Robertson and Niemela by saying too early to tell and always injured is ignorant. Voit lead OHL in points… Niemela won best defensman in World Juniors… Minten is a second round pick… Robertson is a very good scorer in the AHL as well as in the NHL but than gets injured… AND 2 firsts… cmon man. Don’t complain lmao

It’s just quantity we have plenty of prospects just as good and probably better. We need prospects and picks that will be better than we already have like @radtad said. If we are just going to acquire 20 middle 6 players we will never come out of a rebuild lol

See that just blows my mind. 1st + 2nd and Liljegren gets Konecny? I literally just offered what 2 firsts, Niemela, Voit, Minten, Robertson. Yes Liljegren is a quality young player but it kinda blows my mind on the value
