No, I still value Eddy, even retained at 0 at best, and not paying 14 to move Granlund for a mid spec and mid rd pick when his buyout is so easy

Is it still a no if Florida's 1st was substituted for the 4th rounder?

Value wise that's prolly a W for PIT, but I'd still rather just buyout Granlund and use 14 for a good player

The difference in value for Fla 1st and Pit 1st is 160 points or 27 overall.

Granlund may need the equivalent to a 3rd attached to trade (probably less) So that makes it around 135 points or 31st overall.

Edmundson is negative value, even with retention. He may need a 3rd to move. So were back to 160 points.

Is Harris worth a low 1st by himself? Based off what I've seen, it doesn't seem like it.

Why is Granlund only taking a third (or less) to move while Eddy 50% need a third as well? In my opinion Granlund would take a second to move. Harris is definitely worth a low first +. Very responsible future top 4 dman who is only paid 1,4 millions. Wouldn’t move him for less than 20 overall.

Well youre blind if you dont think Harris is worth at least a late first. Hes better than what Romanov was last year when he was traded last draft for 13th overall. Hed easily walk in and be the Pens 3rd best d man. only 23 and signed for 2 more years very cheap. I wouldnt make this trade because Granlund himself could cost a 1st rounder to dump. 2 years a 5m aav and you cant even stick him on LTIR. And his buyout still sucks with it being over 2.5 million dead cap for 2 years after 2024

Granlund has some value as a 3rd liner. He doesn't fit in the Pens system but he was very good in Nash. He is an offensive forward and Pit wanted him to be defensive. Edmundson hasn't been remotely good in years. He is purely an anchor.

I am not buying in on Harris. Maybe he is good, I just don't see him as an A prospect, which is what Pit would want for 14 overall.

Granlund buyout is also really cheap. He is 0.8M, 1.8M, 1.8M, 0.8M. That is peanuts. I'm not sure where you're getting the 2.5MM?

As I can see, Harris would be the 4/5th best dman on the Pens. Letang, Petterson, Petry, POJ were all statistically better last year. I even like Smith more than Harris.

Maybe he is worth a 1st. I just don't see it.

Granlund doesn’t have value. Also 2 millions is huge for a team that is trying to compete. Harris is wayyyy better than POJ and Petry. He has already proven he can be an excellent second pairing defensive dman.

By what metric is Harris excellent? His 47% corsi? His 2.9 expected goals against per 60 (163rd)? His 58.5 expected shots against per 60 (139th)? His 3.1 expected high danger shots against per 60 (184th)?

Where do you see him as an excellent dman?

Just watch his games. He never makes mistakes defensively, is always in pk and can produce a little bit too. Petry is more offensive and trash defensively and POJ wouldn’t make Montreal’s top 6

Petry was actually bad offensively this last season but was quite good defensively.

POJ was better in every metric I mentioned above.

Harris did only have 22 defensive zone giveaways, which is top 100 (about where Petry was).

Still, everything I see is not an A prospect. He appears to be a B prospect who may turn out to be a B+ player. Not worth 14 overall or any 1st round pick.
