Why would the Hurricanes make the Myers deal? If you're trying to contend I imagine they'd much rather have the cap room.

Okay so add another pick or two in the Myers trade. I mean DeBrincat is a sniper and that's what the Hurricanes need... Drury wants out and Tuevo is going to be a minimum asking price. Shipping out Drury would allow us to bring up Ponomarev as the Third Center. Okay so offer him a 1yr/$9m offer and he'll probably decline and then you'll be able to offer him a lower cap hit for a longer term. Aho and Jarvis are better playmakers than what he's been dealing with in Ottowa so I'd expect a higher goal scorer

Aho is being a good puck mover is why I think he'll be such a good fit for the Hurricanes. I mean the Hurricanes could use another puck-moving dimension and Aho would be a great match with Chatfield as his partner

He would be a good fit on the hurricanes, there’s just not much incentive for the isles to move him. He brings a skillset that the isles need more of.

I’d offer Bailey + Johnston for Schmidt if Winnipeg just wants that contract off the books for 24-25 when they are rebuilding.

I mean the Islanders might be willing to take a third for him... it would be a bit of an overpayment but worth it considering it fills a need... they'd get a little bit more cap space and they might be able to bring up somebody to fill that spot

Aho had a couple stretches during the regular season where I didn’t love his game, but he was fantastic in the playoffs. Isles should sign him to a cheap extension asap.

They have a whole year to sign him. He doesn’t have an extensive track record, and nobody else will give him the ice time the isles can. It’s a win-win imo. Same goes for Engvall who flashed untapped potential during his stint with the team.

Having cap space to sign someone, doesn’t mean they will hit UFA status. Bottom line is that Aho’s teammates and coaches love him, and he had a chance to leave LAST OFF SEASON. He stayed then, and I am willing to bet he stays past next summer too.

I'm saying that if the Hurricanes really want to have him they have the ability to offer him a contract in $4m range while still resigning everybody next semester that they need to meanwhile the Islanders are pushed up against the cap and that $4m would be more than likely to lure him to Raleigh and off the Isle

You stated that you want to sign him to a 3 X 1 AAV extension in ur comments, but now ur talking 4 million per year.
