That's what it's gonna take though. That's why a Hart trade doesn't make much sense. We shouldn't trade him unless it's an overpay, but then no one ever overpay's for a goalie. I really hope they don't trade him because my fear is they trade him for not equal value and then we're without a franchise goalie, only hoping and praying one of the assets we get turns into one.

If the Canes can extend him, they accept this in a heartbeat. Heck, it's even worth making the deal without an extension in place and then working on it
