Think like a GM. PLD loss makes the Jets a weaker team now. Josh Anderson is overpaid but can help fill a void now. Beck is close, but Kidney and a 2025 first are too far away. Chevy will get fired before these guys play. Since I am playing the part of Chevy — no deal — I need guys in my lineup now and sooner than 2028.

It's a pretty solid offer. You have a guy who will make a difference in the playoffs, a promising young center who can make the team within 2 years and a first round pick for the next cycle. Nothing to be ashamed of if Chevy can get that return under the circumstances.
