What's the motivation behind the Robinson deal? It doesn't seem to be that compelling for either side.

Flames could get more for Lindholm at the deadline.

Not enough for Lindholm, but any more I’d just wait for him to become a UFA.

Also this team isn’t a playoff team, their d core is still questionable at best.

Lindholm really does fit the jackets well.
But it's all about his value, he's only cracked 80pts once, most years he's a 50-60pts guy, but his 200ft game has lots of value too. On a true contender he's a solid 2C , which is why he ends up playing 1C on a non contender. So again, wtf is his actual value..

This is what I'd offer. Lindholm would also have to sign an extension for the trade to even be considered.

I think the Horvat trade is a good comparable trade.
Conditional 1st, middle six winger (Anthony Beauvillier), recent 2nd round prospect.
The Islanders don't make this trade unless they think they have a good shot at resigning Horvat and the Jackets don't make a Lindholm trade unless we think we have a good chance to resign him.

For the Jackets that would be:
Conditional 2024 1st, Roslovic and Luca Del Bel Belluz', but I am sure they would want Sillinger instead.
