I think if you're willing to eat half of Murphy's contract, you're probably able to get some fantastic returns, this one seems a little lackluster

I agree with your Murphy take but there aren't many teams that can afford to take on Mantha's cap hit. I think he's a good target for the hawks even if they have to give up future considerations for him. Could see mantha bounce back on the hawks top line then flip him at the deadline half retained

Ottawa has need to give up a pick to acquire Blackwell.
Given the cap issues many teams will be having (including Ottawa) there will be better bottom 6 players available on waivers.

Hawks don't make that Murphy trade. Murphy half remained for 3 years returns at least a 1st plus. And I don't think the Kings trade Spence anyway. And since Murphy is still a Hawk, they don't trade away a good, young F and a pick for a d man they don't need. Finally, with respect to Spence and Addison, they are both under 6 feet and both have issues in their own end defending. That's not the type of D men the Hawks want to build around. Hawks won't pay anything for Yamo. They might take him for F/C, but more likely Oilers attach a pick.
