Way too much premium to dump Bailey and Mantha. Goodrow doesn't waive to Montreal

All teams not named Montreal 100% pass. None of your deal are remotely happening.

You’re out of your mind if you think that caps trade is even remotely fair.

Drury won't use Laffy to dump Goodrow. That is a sure way to get fired. Just run Goodrow through buyout calculator on this site and you'll see what I mean.

I mean it is in the same mold as the Monahan trade but the circumstances are completely different, so I think the Caps would rather just buyout Mantha

Monahan <<<< Mantha

That's your opinion but reality is that when healthy Monahan is the better player. The problem is neither one has been healthy for at least 3 years now and Mantha's injury history is more extensive. Add to that the fact that Monahan is now a FA and Mantha has another year at a high cap hit and it means that if the Caps don't want to buyout his contract then they are going to have to pay a 1st to move it. Now it likely won't be this year's 1st and there will be protection added to it but it will still cost a 1st if that is the route the Caps want to go.

They will not have to pay a first to move mantha. Mantha is better than Monahan and has a lesser cap hit.

Sure, believe what you want but it doesn't change the facts Monahan had 17 points in 25 games for a .68 ppg pace, Mantha had 27 points in 67 games for a .40 ppg pace. They are the same age, Mantha has a worse injury history, never had a 50 point season and Monahan plays the more valuable position but you don't think it costs a 1st to move him when it cost the Flames a 1st to move Monahan? As I said though the Caps still likely prefer to buy him out over paying to get rid of him, cause he doesn't have that much value and certainly not at 5.7 mil. He didn't even score 12 goals in those 67 games, sorry but Mantha's value is negative right now so the options available to the Caps are 1. Pay a 1st to dump him 2. Buy him out or 3. Keep him on the roster and allow his contract to expire at the end of the season

I’m sorry but you literally just proved my point; your sample size for Monahan was 25 games. Mantha’s is 67 games. Monahan was with a powerhouse flames team and could not produce or stay in the line up when he got traded. Mantha is on a worse team with a coach that has grossly misused him. Mantha is a far better player than Monahan. Suggesting it costs a first to dump him is silly and ignorant.

LMAO, you are seriously overlooking some key information my friend. Mantha has never played a full season in the NHL and has never even hit 50 points. Monahan has a ppg season and several over 50 points. The year Monahan was traded from Calgary he had 23 points in 65 games which is basically what Mantha just put up (27 points in 67 games). Mantha is a cap dump or buyout candidate, sorry you don't like that but it is what it is.
