Flames aren't interested in trading Zadorov. He also does not play RD very well, significantly better on the left side

Detroit is giving up a bit too much in that deal. Take out the 2nd and it maybe gets done. Ehlers could be a good fit but I think Detroit would rather look at guys like Konecny, Connor or Debrincat with those picks.

I just don't see Ehlers like everyone else seems too, he's always hurt it seems and his production is good but it's a lot for a guy who hasn't really put it all together

I disagree, I'd trade Zadorov ahead of any other D we have. I like a lot of his game, but I think some of his defensive game will be exposed without Sutter making the forwards cover for him.

I wouldn't trade him for a project like Zadina though.

What is Detroit really giving up here? Zadina's draft pedigree is great, but he can't seem to stick in the NHL, and he's getting paid $1.825M which makes him a cap dump.

Viro didn't look like anything special in the AHL last year, so what am I missing where's the overpay?

Probably fair for Ehlers but not sure if the Jets will trade him yet, also don't see it as a move Detroit should make as they're far away from being relevant.

It’s not so much of an overpay as it is unnecessary for us.

I can see why DET, wouldn't want to trade for players signed for 1 year, but I'd argue that this trade favors Detroit any day.

I was referring to the Ehlers deal... but also Detroit says no to the other deal as well. No interest in either Zadorov or Vladar.

90% of DET fans are out to lunch with respect to their roster and trade proposals, but this one is decent.

Ehlers is a top line RW/LW *when he's healthy*. He is targeted A LOT. Any team wanting him, "MUST" protect him. He can take over a game. Not like MacK or McD, but enough. But, because he smaller, he gets flat out illegally hit, etc... all the time.

He's a game breaker, but he's also very vulnerable.

Protect him and you win this trade. Don't and you lose the trade.
