Caufield to Philly is a interesting idea but it makes no sense for Philly at all.

How could you be a fan and say that. CC could score 50 or more in any given year, you want the most exciting player on the team to leave for some maybes? You must’ve been cheering when they traded Subban and when Markov was replaced with alzner 🤣

That Dubois trade is trash!!! You do realize we can trade him as a rental to any team and get likely a 1st, b prospect and some other asset. Make it Florida's 1st or Calgary's 1st, Kidney and Colorado 2nd. Add in cap players if necessary. This trade gets your number blocked lol and it's not close

“ Let face it, habs have all the leverage”

And Jets get better than this as a rental to a contender. It’s already been reported in the media that he’s open to more than just the Habs which might create a bit of a bidding war. If the Jets allow Dubois to talk to interested teams then it’s more and more doubtful he goes to Montreal.

Nah this is one we disagree on. If that’s all we have to give up for CC you ABSOLUTELY do it

I disagree. One, we'd never offer him $9 mil. Two, it's way to much draft capital to give up for a team in a rebuild. We already have shooters, Tippett, Foerster, TK, Gauthier...we don't "need" Caulfield. That 1st next year could net us a high end D man, which we certainly need more than CC.

That I totally agree with but I think CC can be a star. We also have another 1st next year which would allow us to draft a D-man. You can also try to get another 1st for any of Hayes, Provy, Hart too. Idk this one really intrigues me and at the same time D-men typically cost less to acquire through trade anyway if we eventually have to do it that way

Before spending this much, I'd want to see him complete a full NHL season and be a PPG player or 40 goal scorer. I know he was on pace last year but you gotta complete a season to get that 40 goal sticker.

Montreal fans need to look up what the word "leverage" means. They obviously don't understand what it means. They think they have it, when in reality they have none.

Yeah I get your point but if CC wants out and teams come running to trade/OS it might be now or never

The issue is that 1 star doesn't fix the team. Those 2 st's would atleast be both in the top 5 and those picks could very easily end up becoming stars.

I don’t think we are going to be top 5 in any draft without winning the lottery. This was a bad team this year and they finished 7th. The team will be better next year

They are just finished 7th and are gonna get rid of Hayes, Provorov and possibly Konecny in the offseason. They aren't gonna get better.

I agree they may not be any better but I don’t see them being top 5 worst. There are a handful of teams that extremely worse than they are

Looking at the teams that finished below the flyers and out of those Columbus, Montreal and Anaheim will probably all be better than Philly and that puts Philly at 4th worst. They are also gonna get rid of some guys for next season so it's likely they will finish in the bottom 5.

Vancouver will also likely be worse than them when they blow it up and I’m not convinced Montreal or Anaheim will be better at all. I don’t think they finish worse than they did this year

The Canucks aren't going to blow it up. They just traded for Hronek which signals that they will try to retool.

Montreal's young guys will improve their team with hopefully them having a full season of Caufield, Slaf and Monahan.

Kinda same with Anaheim. They will get a new headcoach and that will hopefully allow McTavish, Zegras, Drysdale to improve. They are now done with tanking and will try to improve the young players they have.

No not at all. There's a difference between ABLE to score 50 and actually scoring 50. Mark my words... cole will never play a full season, let alone make it through 4 rounds of physical playoff hockey. You like entertaining hockey? That's fine. I'll stick with winning hockey thank you very much

I wonder why the media is reporting that he is now all of a sudden open to more than just the habs... Hmm. Couldn't have something to do with trying to get leverage back now could it

WHAT A MORONIC TAKE. He will score 50 next year. He had no problem on the first line in the finals 2 years ago

ok, you think thats so moronic? put money on him scoring 50 next year and send proof. Until you do that, you shouldn't be so brazen
