I think you're trying to hurry a rebuild by assuming free agents would sign value deals to come to CHI. As for the Flames trades, that's not the return the Flames will be looking for, Murphy is a cap dump, so is Zaitsev IMO, and the picks don't balance it enough. The Flames paid a 1st so that MTL could take on Monahan at $6.3M for a season.

Anyways, just stick with it through a rebuild, there's no quick solution, but you'll have a decent team in 3 years.

Only reason the bruins consider trading Ullmark is for cap space, taking back 3.8 mil in Mrazek is a nonstarter.
