If Bertuzzi was willing to sign for mid to high 5s, He'd still be in Detroit and not a pending UFA. Yzerman already offered him 4 x $6,000,000 he's not taking less.

And giving Marner McDavid money on top of needing to re-sign Aho and Pesce and others isn't happening.

Agreed on Scheifele, Wheeler, Demelo, Helly and Pionk. Ehlers and Lowry are different. With Morrissey, those 2 make up the heart and soul of the Jets and are the best people on the team. Those 3 are all heart, effort and much more. Ehlers is most likely of the 3 because he gets injured a fair bit (again back to little guys). Lowry and Morrissey should NEVER be allowed to go. They are far too important.

Scheifele and Wheeler have to go ASAP. If Wheeler is not traded, he's bought out (hopefully). Demelo on a decent offer. Helly on a VERY GOOD offer or they wait for the trade deadline and find a trading partner that is projected to go to the cup and win and that Helly wants to go to and make a very good deal at that point.

They need to do a tear down like Ottawa did.

The difference in the tear downs is you guys have a lot more pieces to work with in moving and also some guys may stay the whole rebuild and you already have a good prospect pool to work with without moving anyone

Someone will offer him at least $6M. With just about everyone talking about needing to add more grit and when Bertuzzi has played close to 70 games he has scored 21 goals twice and 30 goals once. Plus in his first trip to the playoffs he has 5g - 5a for 10 points in just 7 games.
