2oa and a top 10 prospect is not a very weak offer. It’s not even an offer the ducks would make.

Anaheim is not mortgaging the future for a year of Matthews, and yes, it'll only be a year, because if Matthews doesn't sign with Toronto, he absolutely IS going to test the UFA market, and at that point, what did we pay for him for?

I was just pointing out that Detroit was just as bad if not worse when they drafted Raymond and in his first season. As Toronto was when they drafted Nylander and in his first season. So if you are using being on a bad team as a reason for Nylander not putting up more points. So shouldn't Raymond get the same consideration being that both teams were really bad in those situations?
