Seemed like my statement was pretty straight forward. I don't dislike Saad but his contract does not have positive value, at least not for Detroit. It's 3 years of a cap dump at 4.5M. Then there is the 2nd coming from Detroit. It would take #10 overall to make us consider that trade and that's being generous.

No dumping Saad in Detroit and getting an be early second back would likely cost the Blues first. I never said it was a good idea for the Blues just what the cost of that trade would be.

You can say Saad isn’t a fit in Detroit and have a case. To suggest moving Saad would be dumping a contract isn’t realistic. To go a step further and say it would cost the 10th overall to move Saad is just comic book funny

I know hockey just fine and I like Saad as a player but his age and contract just don't fit in Detroit. 2 years I might be a little more inclined to be alright with adding him to the team but 3 years at 4.5M just doesn't fit with us. It's really that simple, the fit isn't there. To Detroit he would be a dump from St Louis. It's really not that hard to figure out. He might be worth alot to some other team. In this trade for this team maybe another team pays a second for him, if his full no trade clause allows it. If there was a scenario where the Blues wanted to move him and his only acceptable destination was Detroit then it would likely cost something to move him there. Either trade him elsewhere or keep him. Just cause a player has alot of value to one team doesn't mean he has the same or any value to another.
