Why would the Ducks give up a first line winger, and a future star center for like 2 years of Marner?

The idea that we would trade all of Adam Fantilli's career and most of Troy Terry's career for two seasons of Mitch Marner and a future first which is unlikely to be in the top half of the draw is utterly absurd. Tell me what you think we would have from that trade on the opening day of training camp in 2025.

A part of me can understand why they might not want to do fantilli for Marner. But there is absolutely no way that you think the Ducks wouldn’t do Terry for Marner lmao

Yeah the answer is Marner 100 times out of 100. And believe it or not, you can resign Marner after 2 years

We can try, but we risk having to pay him 13-14 million.

I don't think Marner is twice the player that Terry is, and that other 6-7 million could be better spent elsewhere.

We'll be plenty happy with Terry locked up at 7 million for the next 7 years, even knowing he is the lesser player.
