So basically the Canucks trade Pettersson for another guy who can easily leave in like 3 years? Pettersson is an RFA. He has made 0 indications that he wants out. Not a single player on the Leafs could get Pettersson as they would all likely walk the first chance they get

At least Matthews and Marner make the playoffs every year. JT Miller and Peterson only get coaches fired.

If Pettersson wants out, Vancouver isn't trading him for a winger. They would trade him for another young C under team control of similar calibre.
