O'Rielly dosent look to be returning and Amirov with his current health situation has no value and would be a bad look if we traded him

Kempe scored more goals than Matthews did this season and he costs less than half as much. No thanks.

What? Minnesota better do that deal in a heartbeat if offered

Why? We'd be trading 7 years of Boldy for 2 years of Marner. Considering Boldy and Marner scored basically he same number of goals this year (31 vs 30 in favor of Boldy) despite Boldy clearly having a lesser pairing of linemates, I don't see the major upside here. We also don't have the cap space for this to make sense. Not only does Marner cost more than Boldy and Foligno combined, we'd also have to pay to fill in an additional roster spot. We're already in major cap hell and will likely have to make a trade to make enough room to fill out the roster so doing this trade will just make the pain worse. I'd rather have a player who is improving under contract for a long time vs a player who is probably about what he is for just 2 years that we can't really afford him.

All of this is wrong.
1. Marner is a way better player both offensively and defensively
2. Marner can create on his own, Boldy can not
3. Marner is signed for 2 years, gets what happens in 2 years with the Wild cap?
4. They are fine with cap with this trade. 24 cap opens up a lot
5. Man Minnesota fans fall in love with their own to the detriment of whats best.

We will agree to disagree on this one. But if you pass up on Marner for a trade like this you will regret it

Minnesota wouldn't ever. They wouldn't trade a rising superstar for two years of more expensive player.

No with all due respect we wouldn't. Nobody is trading 7 years of boldy for two years of Marner, same player as fiala whose dislike by Guerin because they don't have a two way game. Fiala was also let go so Minnesota can pay kaprizov

Wow. Using the term beta males AND trading a kid recovering from a life threatening disease. Umm... You seem nice.

There is no guarantee Marner would want to stay in Minnesota. And with the way the management reacted after the playoff loss, they aren't to focused on buying until after the dead cap ends. Boldy is LOCKED into the team for 7 more years. Yes, Marner is better than Boldy. But I'd rather have 21 year old Boldy who's under contract for 7 more years than Marner who is only under contract for the duration of Cap Hell. Imo it's a risk for the Wild, which some people would take, but the Wild have shown no interest in taking that kind of risk with this dead cap. Get Marner a new contract in 1-2 years and Minnesota would start talking.
