What if someone sends a $4.2M offer sheet to Swayman and you only get a 2nd if you don't match? Do you trade Ullmark then? Won't get as much considering the other side knows the offer sheet situation.

I have no desire to keep both but it’s certainly possible if Sway takes a 1 year bridge at 2.5. It’s completely up to Sway, if he wants to get paid now, one has to go, but he does not have a lot of leverage other than OS which are rarely used and there is really only 1 team that has the resources to do it in a way that Boston can’t match that would make any sense for them to do it…Carolina.

They should trade Ullmark and keep Swayman, which was always the game plan when they signed Ullmark. They gave Ullmark a full NMC until Sways contract ran out. Then reduced it to M-NTC to open up the possibility of a trade when Sway needed a new deal.

Boston has zero desire to move Sway. If you want him you would have to match or beat the 1st/3rd compensation they woukd receive from an OS they could/would not match.

Peeke just signed to a new deal, don't see them moving him for Murph.

They didn't give him any clause, though. So, that doesn't mean a whole lot and probably just adds to his trade value, if anything. CBJ has a plethora of RD at the NHL level, none of which are solidified in their lineup, including Peeke. They could trade every single one of them and I wouldn't blame them. Although, I do think, of all their RD, Peeke is probably the one CBJ likes the most.

Either way, CHI likely accepts this if CBJ offers it. They could probably even take out Bemstrom and I'd still be on board with it.

Sure. I'm just saying value-wise, they could probably exclude Bem and the value would still be there, or close enough. That early 2nd round is going to be full of overflow from the 1st round, so CBJ's 2nd is a great pick.
