People on this site see a Flyers player and think they are worth nothing it’s comical. Cates was the most improved player this year, a Torts favorite, one of the best defensive forwards in the league, and one of the best rookies in the league this year all while playing center when he is a WINGER. The dude did all of that while learning a new position. But yeah let’s throw a 4th at the Flyers that will get him I mean come on man do any kind of research. Any offer sheet the flyers would just match and any trade for him starts with a first round pick because of his value to Torts and the core moving forward

What would it take for you to trade him?

I knew he was really good but was hoping he may be a "fly under the radar underpayment" player. I didn't think VAN could afford him so this was more of a hope

He’s probably one of like 4-5 players on the Flyers I would say is guaranteed to be untouchable unless a ridiculously stupid overpayment comes in where u can’t say no

To answer this question, a mid first or more would be the only way I trade him. It’s way too much for him but they aren’t gonna give him away if it isn’t an overpayment

Yeah it’s a move where VAN isn’t in the place to actually go for him. Something like the Leafs stupidly overpaying for him would make too much sense lol but like I said he’s probably untouchable for sure. Torts raves about him constantly.

Thoughts on Hog/Podz being sent the other way?

I mean something like Podz and a kid pick may get it done but I’m honestly not sure because he was so impressive in just his rookie year that I have no clue what value he has with the Flyers. Torts could tell Danny u better get me something huge if I have to part with him. Not a huge fan of Hog would rather have Podz or Hog and probably a 1st
