It doesn't matter if they want him back or not; he has a full NMC and, so long as he wasn't in breach of contract, they can't just terminate his deal. Plus, the Avs are a far better team with him on the ice. Whatever happened, he may have to rebuild bridges or whatnot but he will be an Av.
