It most certainly is not worth it for the Leafs

wow, I'd consider that if I were the Leafs. Not only do you save cap, but you add a gritty hometown boy with cup experience. I don't think the Caps do this though for cap reasons. they're doubling Tommy's salary pretty much for a guy not worth 2x more than Tommy. Who knows?

If Wilson is the guy you’re trying to move for Marner then it goes nowhere without at least adding this years 8th overall pick. Like it or not, Marner is a top 10 player in the league. Takes quite a bit to acquire him.

Marner's a top 10 player, but his contract means there's essentially no market for him. If you're determined to move him, it won't be for what you think he's worth.

I’m a big fan of his game and don’t think the leafs should trade him. I agree he is a top 10 player or just outside.

This deal won’t happen anyways but if it did it would be hard to please both sides. I think it will take way more to move Wilson than he is worth and I think Marner would get less than he is worth because of his cap hit (even though he is worth his contract)

I can’t see Caps doing Wilson and 8OA even though Marner is definitely worth that

I mean, i don't think it takes a lot to move Wilson... maybe it takes a lot in the sense of the caps don't want to move him, but he isn't a high value target.

Also, don't think it'd be hard to please both sides, one is getting Marner, and the other would be getting assets to build a young team. Whoever gets Marner has his cap hit sure, but the cap is also anticipated to grow the next few seasons.

I disagree, i think it would take a lot to move Wilson. He is valuable but it would cost a lot more than he’s worth for any team to trade for him. I doubt he’s ever moved.

I’m sure there is a deal somewhere that would please both sides but it’s going to be hard for anyone to be pleased with a return for a great player like Marner

Wilson isn't even a .5/ppg player. He's a "Tough guy" i get it, but he's also getting older, don't think he'd fetch a ton, but as a one year rental i'm sure someone would overpay at the TDL if he's having a decent season.

It’s been 5 years since he’s been a .5 ppg player. I think he’ll be around 60 points next year and should have 3-4 more years of good play.

He is tough but he’s also a top 6 winger. I think the return would be a lot but only because he’ll never be moved out of Washington unless it’s a gross overpay.

I think the caps should resign a 7+ AAV honestly.

The contract will be interesting. 7+ seems like a lot but it may not be too bad until the final years with the cap going up.

I imagine he is extended this summer
