No interest, much better options in FA, I'd be interested in making an offer to Dumba. Toronto's D as it sits needs some work but Tanev at his age and cost and what he'll actually bring inevitably ends up on LTIR with Muzzin

Only way he ends up on LTIR like that is if you have him blocking 30 shots a penalty. The Leafs PK should be more than competent enough by now to prevent the opponent from just lining up and taking potshots over and over again no? That's why he got hurt so much in Vancouver. In his 3 years since coming over to Calgary he's only missed 17 of 220 games.

Personally I have little to no interest in moving him unless Calgary is making a significant upgrade on their roster

How? He's still going to block lots of shots no matter what. But what's going to injure him is the opponent lining up like a firing squad and taking slappers at him. It's literally just about being competent defensively as a team to keep him from getting hurt

Tanev has been top 3 in defensive WAR league wide every season he's been a Flame. That is not because he blocks shots, it's because he is extremely responsible defensively. Brodie, Weegar, and Carlo are the only other guys that have been top 5 in 2 of the last 3 years.

Try trading Tanev on here, go for it. I don't see a spot for him in TO he is old he is overpaid and flame fans massively overvalue Tanev. He is slight step up from Justin Holl that's what he is, he passes the eye test better but I'm not looking to drop 4.5 on Tanev when that 4.5 is much more utilized somewhere else. I'm sorry but you have to go wash your mouth with soap. What a dog**** take on Tanev. Justin freaking Holl? Holl is a decent #5 that can be moved up in the lineup if an injury occures. He is decent defensively but prone to quite a few epic blunders. Tanev is undeniably one of, if not the best shutdown defensemen in the league over the last few years. The only thing that is a "turnoff" about adding Tanev to your roster is the potential of injury. Nothing else whatsoever. Dead Cap? Im ****ing dead
