There is no benefit for either team here, Ottawa loses their young capital that offers a gritty game. Toronto loses arguably their best player (I personally think Marner is better than Matthews and I know its an unpopular opinion).

Sens entire team is built around Brady. He is also signed for longer. While they have Giroux, they don't have the veteran core where they could take Brady out of the team and not completely destroy it.

Marner is the better player, Brady is the better leader. Marner produces more and is much better defensively, Brady is more physical and plays a style that might translate better to playoff hockey.
