The problem with trading Panarin, and other aging stars, is that the receiving team is still paying for their prime years with their massive cap hits without getting those prime years.
Yes, the bread man is still producing as good as ever, but he's on the wrong side of 30 and still has three years on that deal.
If NYR wants to unload him, it's because they can't justify his production for that cap hit and want to spend it elsewhere, so why should we ship off a haul of draft capital to acquire him for his retirement tour?
