I don't think that we'll be signing TWO free-agent LhDs in light of Jackson LaCombe's emergence and the need to start giving developmental playing time to Pavel Mintyukov and Olen Zellweger, plus I think that we'll give Simon Benoit his Qualifying Offer.

We'll be signing Troy Terry to at least a seven-year deal.

We have enough prospects to bring along that we don't need to ruffle feathers by extending Offer Sheets to bottom-6 minimal-contract players like Fabian Zetterlund. (You have two of our LWs playing out of position just because you brought Zetterlund in.)

I have the feeling that the benefit to NY of getting Panarin off their books will reduce his trade value by at least one of the seconds. Lundestrom is a perfectly good #3C.

AZ declines. They won't take on Silfverberg's $5m actual salary with their limited revenue stream.

The problem with trading Panarin, and other aging stars, is that the receiving team is still paying for their prime years with their massive cap hits without getting those prime years.

Yes, the bread man is still producing as good as ever, but he's on the wrong side of 30 and still has three years on that deal.

If NYR wants to unload him, it's because they can't justify his production for that cap hit and want to spend it elsewhere, so why should we ship off a haul of draft capital to acquire him for his retirement tour?
