Lottery protected pick. Kings free up 5 mill cap space . No roster spot for Dolan in l.a so they decide to move on
LAK
Wings take a chance and decide to let Peterson backup husso and if he fails they’ll just bury him. Wings can afford this move with lots of cheap contracts coming in next 2 seasons

    1. Mantha, Anthony
    2. Choix de 2e ronde en 2023 (WSH)

    1. Mastrosimone, Robert [Liste de réserve]
    Détails additionnels:
Yzerman continues to fleece the caps by now getting a 2nd for taking mantha back for one season. If lucky he returns to form and goes on a 25-30 goal pace to be moved at the deadline for another 2nd. Mastrosimone doesn’t see, to want to sign here maybe caps can get him to sign with them

Capitals pass. pretty terrible deal. cant imagine them giving up the 40th overall pick. "fleecing" Vrana isnt even on the Wings anymore. you got McLaughlin and a 7th while retaining salary lol. smile

The Avs do not "need" to move on from Girard, they need to get good value back in any trade they make. This return is so-so; not terrible, not great. IMO, the guy they should move is Toews.

If they move Girard they get way more more value, Fabbri is pretty much untradable. Washington declines, Mantha is blah but can't see them doing that. I'm not moving back if I'm Vancouver but day of draft maybe you can temp them.

Was listening to a podcast earlier that mentioned girard as trade bait (heard his name out there before) to add scoring depth since that’s what cost them vs seattle. Got no idea who they should move but if they want to create cap space guessing those are the guys in play

Heard plenty of canucks fan here oddly who said they’d love to do that deal and get their 2nd back lol think they can get a good pick at 18(think they can) I just think if we can get 2 top 11 picks and get someone else we really covet I’d go for it. No more playing it safe , we’d still have 40&41

I don't mind doing it it's just always depends how the draft falls , there's no incentive for Vancouver to do a deal like this ahead of time.

Ya I just checked your roster lol girard is definitely the guy to move

    toews makar
    Byram Manson

Girard is a right d wouldn’t keep a 4.5-5 mill 3rd pairing dman when your a cup contending team

I dont think they move back, I could maybe see a few spots but 19 is too far. Dvorsky, Leonard, ASP or Moore will be around 11.

Girard is the one, who with his contract, probably is the best trade chip. Still pretty young, puck moving D, plays a lot of mins (he's not really 3rd pairing as the Avs don't really run their D that 'traditional' way) and plays both sides. To me you can only have so many puck moving D even if that's part of how the Avs are built. I know a lot of people are down on him but I'd hope he pulled a better return than this. The Avs really need a straight up 2C trade if it involves him or Toews (or even Byram for that matter) so I think the Avs decline. It's not terrible but there's no legit 2C there.

They gotta be conscious of his UFA status and their cap. Unless he's willing to take a deep, deep discount, I don't think they can afford to see him walk in UFA.

Absolutely. I think getting an extension in place ASAP (at the right money) has to be one of GMCM's priorities (IIRC he can extend this off-season?) so they know where they stand. I think that's the point they then look at trading Toews (if he's not playing ball) or moving Girard (or even Byram for that matter) if they've got him locked up.

He can re-sign come July 1, I believe. If they re-sign Toews, they have to trade one of Girard or Byram. In that case, they should trade Girard. I'm just not sure they should be re-signing a 29 y/o but he is pretty invaluable and he fits their timeline.

A lot depends on term and dollars. If you can sign him at 5 or 6 years at under 8 mil you do it imo. Sure, at the end he'll be something akin to EJ but hopefully not as worn out through multiple injuries (hopefully I haven't jinxed him now as he's been pretty durable so far, which was something this year at any rate), and the cap will have increased massively by that then. Tbh I can't think of anyone who would be a better fit alongside Makar apart from a certain Colorado native who would be very difficult to prize out of Carolina. It all depends on what they can get Toews locked up for to me.

Yes he’s definetly your best trade chip. Didn’t think kubalik or perron since they’ll be ufa’s would be of interest so threw in Fabbri who if healthy can provide offense and veleno whos still young . Cant see us moving raymond, kasper, berggren . Guessing anyways we wouldn’t be good trade partners with rumours of wallinder johansson being able to play right side and it will likely have to happen with all the left d we have in our pipeline

Was thinking of a way to add another 1st or 2nd and Mantha had one year left so wasn’t something longterm, we’re not exactly desperate to get Mantha back 🤣 .. he’s been a disaster in Washington making almost 6 million. No ones giving up anything valuable for him
