If you have the cap room, go for Toews. He would be a good 2nd C and an amazing 3rd C. Wins faceoffs at a top 5 NHL rate. Solid possession numbers. Could probably be had for 5MM per for 2 - 3 years.

Value is good for the Devils but I don't think Fitz does this. McLeod has also looked pretty good of late so I don't think there's any reason to replace him.

I'm surprised how good these moves actually are, only question is why on earth you'd pay a 2nd for the rights to an RFA you didn't even sign. I'd get it if you just overlooked the signing but its still kinda weird because he wouldn't crack the lineup anyways. Also I don't see you taking Blackwood if you don't flip UPL, but you can make the decision of who to flip later in the season. W team

I thought that exactly with the goaltending. Could retain on Blackwood in a trade later on if needed or just bury him in Roch until either UPL/Levi get injured. If he gets claimed off waivers then who cares considering his cap hit, his poor play of late, etc. I dont see us trading away more than 1 goalie in the offseason.

If you're trading a 2nd, go for a guy like Addison in Minn. Great numbers. Might cost a little more (in trade value and to sign on a per year basis) but he would be a solid 2nd pairing D.

I really dont understand why minn would trade a young, cost controlled, 2nd pairing RHD with Dumba leaving. Esp considering their cap situation. Like, why would they move him?
