Not how the pick system works there. If Florida makes it to the ECF then the pick moves from 17th to minimum 29th-32th. Look at 2021 as an example. Jets beat edm in round 1 and then lost to mtl. In what you think Winnipeg would have a first after edm. In reality the first was at 18th for the jets (lucius) and edm 20th (traded). If Florida wins and losses to Toronto its still 17th ovr. This means Boston has pick 28th unless they make the final four.

Awesome thanks for the insight! I have always been a bit confused about this. I do believe the 1st round of the playoffs should impact it, but what can you do! Thanks!

As much as I like Eddy, he won’t get us a first and it is too much for PLD

half retained and a 3rd going to Vegas for a late first? I think this is more than fair. A team who wants to get better and is cap strapped, this could be a great move!

Eddy will get a late second 50% retained if we are lucky

I really can't see Vegas being interested in Edmundson, assuming the D core stays around: Martinez, McNabb, Hague, and Whitecloud are all honestly at least as good as, if not better than Edmundson, not to mention Theodore and Pietrangelo - that's their top 6 D right there.

At this point, it's impossible for me to believe Edmundson would return a 1st, even if you attach retention and a 3rd to him. You're probably looking at a 4th or 5th, with retention. Edmundson would have to bounce back to his former-self to get more than that, I think.

...and personnaly, this would be way too much for Dubois. I'm opposed to using Barron as trade chip in general, I see no reason to trade FLA's 1st round pick (although, FLA reaching the conference finals, dropping that pick to 29-32 would make it a lot more likely) and giving away two 2nd picks on top of it is too rich for my blood. smile
