Malgin is hurt and has been playing 4m on the 4th line. I too would prefer MacDermid at F. 2nd line in game 6 was Eller, Compher, ERod. So Newhook centers Nieto & LOC. I think the Avs really.prefer forwards to be more skilled and D to be big and tough if needed, so MacD on D wouldn't surprise me either.

honest question from an outsider, I know they want a good run from the Eagles as an org, but why not call up Alex Galchenyuk for a crucial game 7? He at least has experience at that level and you could roll 12-6 then?

He gets about 5 minutes a game when he's been called up - what's the point if he isn't even going to play?

Helm and Manson won't help: they'd be playing hurt and be mostly ineffective, as they have been when they've played recently.

I would be very surprised to see MacD on D in an elimination game. It's almost guaranteed he'll make a bad play or take a bad penalty that leads to at least one goal.

To me, a 4th line playing 5 minutes is more valuable than a 7th dman playing 6-7... especially when MacDemaid has looked pretty rough when he's been in...

Well, all things being equal, I wouldn't let MacDermid play in this game at all. They should keep Hunt up and go 11/6. MacD is MASSIVE liability. But, this is the consequence of having a poor development system; they have no players they want to call up and trust to play meaningful minutes.

Chucky looked engaged last callup. But based on this season, Bednar's veteran hierarchy is: Hunt, MacDermid, Chucky.

So Hunt is called up!
