If a team has a few UFA's in a years time, why would they trade guys with multiple years left?

Having Mikey Anderson on the 3rd pairing is criminal. He's just as good as guys like Siegenthaler, Samuelsson, and Pesce.

Jets aren't trading Morrissey, And Hellebuyck is getting a hell of a lot more than the 7M range try more like the 8M range and higher. And Hellebuyck wants to play close to home. So Sorry LA is 2.400 miles away from Detroit.

I think they should sell it all off. Sell all of those guys if you can get something near the right price. Wheels I'd say sell if you can get a good return but not so sure you could. Nobody should be anywhere close to off the table and do a proper rebuild imo. I'm very much a fan of the scorched earth approach, perhaps to extremes, when it comes to middling teams though, I will admit.

Roy and Durzi were a pair for most of this season, so I can see the Kings potentially doing that. However, Anderson was practically born to play with Doughty. That pair will not be broken up.

is he really getting "a hell of a lot more" than 7M range? How many goalies make that much money? Currently only Vasilevskiy and Bob. Vasi is the best goalie in the NHL and Bob's contract is one that other teams are going to learn from. He'll be what, 30 when signing this next deal? I think 7M is the likely number. 8M would be the absolute high case for me, I'd be surprised.

LA is also one of the few destinations that players want to go to regardless of where they are from, the stars really have to align to narrow your options to exclusively your hometown team.

With Clarke coming to the NHL, they have more need to sign a solid shutdown defenseman than they need to acquire a defenseman like Morrissey. I'd like to see them go after Ryan Graves this summer.
