Rumor is that debrincat won’t sign in Ottawa and Detroit needs a goal scorer and because he’s from MI but they’re in the same division and at the same stage of rebuild so it’s hard to see how it works out.

Yeah he's a Michigan boy. Realistically I'd love him on our team, but thankfully Yzerman is more about building a good team than a team with a lot of players from the surrounding areas.

Yeah there's a drop off but the 2023 draft past 6OA is still much better than the 2022 draft.

Korchinski went 7th last year, he'd be the first defenseman off the board in this draft.

But would he the first off the board in his draft year? Now he's looking good but did he look that good last year and would he beat out all the guards this year? Also would really depend on team needs as well.

I take Reinbacher and maybe Pellikka before Korchinski.

DeBrincat might be good add....in the summer of 2024 as sUFA. Not at all beneficial for the Wings to give up good draft picks for him. Heck if Wings don't sign DeBrincat as a RFA or UFA, just use that money wisely signing somebody else.....and keep the picks.

Yeah. Maybe we do it if we're actually on par with Buffalo and Ottawa in our rebuild; but we're not. I'd say we're out of it after next season, but not sure. I'd like to see Lombardi, Mazur, and Wallinder to graduate before I think we're out of the rebuild. As for competing, I need to see Cossa before I can say that.

In general. Reinbacher I don't think needs discussion, but Pellikka; I just prefer Swedes. Not a big fan of the CHL.

Korchinski is from my home town so I like him but I agree, those two might go before him in this draft. Korchinski probably around 15-20 this draft.

Debrincat likely gets a return similar to the Horvat package IMO, maybe slightly more. They are both complimentary pieces, not true superstars. With that in mind if I were Detroit I would be comfortable moving the islanders 2023 1st, Rasumussen and Albert Johansson. Maybe throw in a 3rd to get it done. The 1st is the exact same pick traded for Horvat. Rasumussen is similar to Beauvillier and AJ is a B+ prospect like Raty.

Not saying Ottawa accepts but that would be my best offer.
