Description
**ALL OF THESE TRADES WERE COPIED FROM ACGM's THAT ARE FANS OF THE OTHER TEAM**

NOTE:
All of these happening is EXTREMELY unlikely, but, the general idea of CHI adding at least ONE more 2023 1st round pick would be ideal for CHI's rebuild. Especially if we don't end up with a top 2 pick and/or get pushed back to 5th overall.

CONDITIONS:
NYR's at least make the Eastern Conference final, turning their 2023 2nd round pick into a 2024 or 2025 1st round pick, per the Patrick Kane trade.

TRADES: (Neither VAN nor PIT move up in the draft lottery)
-VAN sheds $16.5M in cap hits and a total of $32.65M in actual salary owed.
PRICE: 11 to 13th overall pick and a top prospect.
Van Receives: Mitchell: a promising young RHD.
Kayumov: an NHL ready forward who has already had success in the KHL.
https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/699817?post_id=3995689

-PIT sheds $9.925M in cap hits and a total of $15.9M in actual salary owed.
PRICE: 14 to 16th overall pick and a good prospect.
PIT Receives: Dickinson: a good bottom 6 center/winger who can float up and down the lineup where needed and is affordable.
Caleb Jones: a relatively young and affordable LHD that still has more upside to be explored.
2024 3rd round pick
https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/699797?post_id=3995638

**When put into perspective, both of those cap dumps are pretty generous on CHI's part.**
**Both are teams that say they don't want to rebuild and do want to win now**

-CBJ gets a legit top 4 veteran RHD that is locked up at an affordable cap hit for 3 seasons, with the added bonus that he is a "hometown hero", being from the Columbus area.
PRICE: A late LAK 2023 1st round pick (or an equivalent package).

Canucks pass, Pearson is likely done and not playing again, we won't have to move his salary, to Dump OEL for a top 11 pick in a draft this stacked is to steep of a price for Vancouver to pay, which leaves Lekkerimäki with the Myers dump which is way to much to pay for a contract with one year left, The appetite just isn't here for Vancouver to make this move.

You don't get out of mediocrity by counting to make bad moves to fix prior mistakes.

Yeah. That was my thought, too, but the ACGM of the original post said VAN is impatient and doesn't want a drawn out rebuild and development process, and would be willing to pay the price to open up cap space and retool instead. For Myers, it depends if it is pre or post signing bonus, but regardless of actual salary, a $6M cap hit will be expensive to move, if they choose to do so.

I find it hard to believe that "the real Kyle Davidson" would be so combative in his response. haha

All of which have proven to be 5-6-7th dmen at best. But, again, this is only copying a CBJ fans proposal.

We got a lot issues here, homes. lol

1) Carter isn't going anywhere. Us Pens fans need to come to grips with this, as does everyone else. He's not retiring and stated he loves the Pens and wants to stay. A scenario where ownership asks him to waive? I guess, but he holds the cards and my guess is, if he would yes, it would be to a contender that wants him, so again, good luck to us with that lol

2) Pens aren't moving their first top 15 pick in 20 years. Especially not in a crazy deep draft like this. Considering they could possibly draft #4? No way. If they moved that pick, it won't be to take out trash. It will be for a major upgrade somewhere.

They already have jiricek who will get one spot and looks like a lock to be a top pair guy. Boqvist is great when healthy. Peeke is a younger/cheaper version of Murphy. Gudbranson is stuck in Columbus with his contract and blankenberg is solid 7th D guy. Then you have ceulamens who will be pushing for a spot soon. There’s just no room for Murphy here. Jackets fans want him because he’s from Columbus

Those were my thoughts as well. These are all copied from other peoples proposals and are not my own. But, much like the VAN trade, the OP stated that PIT ownership is impatient and posits that they would be willing to pay the price to clear cap space and retool through free agency/other possible trades, rather than a long term rebuild and development process. Also, this would be under the assumption that PIT does not win in the draft lottery. The purpose of this is more about the overall idea of CHI ADDING (not trading up) another 2023 1st round pick.

haha. I totally get it. I have an irrational and outdated dislike for them too. But I try to set it aside as much as possible. One of my favorite hockey writers/people on twitter is @samanthacp_ and she is a Vancouver native and fan. The passion of their fanbase can be a bit overbearing at times, but they are overall a pretty progressive fanbase, which I dig.
