Rare Tyler Myers trade that I'd be willing to accept from an Anaheim perspective, which likely means that Van doesn't tears of joy

I love the idea of Graves, I just don't think the team is ready for that kind of signing. Unless the plan is to turn one or more of Mintyukov/Zellweger/LaCombe into trade chips over the next year or two.

I think the best plan is to find the right coach, make a couple of roster additions on short term deals, then hit the UFA market hard in 2024 when you have a better idea of what you've got in the young kids, and when the market is *hopefully* flooded with huge names.

Yeah, assuming they get Bedard/Fantilli/Carlsson, their offence is pretty much setup. You porbbaly want another top 6F in the long run but one of the youngsters will eventually take it. I think you need to fix the short term D while you wait for the D prospects to develop. Thats because, you:

1) Don't want to leave the goalies out to dry especially Dostal and ruin his confidence.
2) Need a good partner for Drysdale that will be a good mentor and allow him to thrive and also have him sheltered a little to develop properly
3) A decent defence would be able to support the forwards and get the puck out

Yeah, I could see GMPV signing someone for 2-3 years (Soucy?). Can't see the 7 year thing happening. Plus, we won't need defence when Matthews signs tears of joy

I've actually been making a list of partners for Drysdale I do think that needs to be a priority this offseason. (Gonna bold my choice from each one

Trade Targets (I realize some of these may not be available) - Jake Walman (DET, past relationship with Stevie but doubt hes available), Dylan Samberg (WPG, Good skater, size, Jets are loaded at LHD might make sense), Joel Edmunson (MTL, may be pushed out this offseason), Martin Fehevary (WSH, could be retooling)

Internal (Least likely imo) - Fowler (didnt look good when they've been together in the past, LaCombe (Is he going to be ready?)

Free Agency - Gavrikov, as mentioned Soucy and Graves, Bring Kulikov back

I agree with Lenny saying I dont see a 7 year deal happening this offseason as much as I would love Graves.

I think getting a partner for Drysdale, LaCombe, potentially Zellweger/Mintyukov and whichever other relevant young defenders we may have up on a regular basis next year should be priority 1 outside of the draft for us

It's Monday, man....I've got a huge work project that needs to be done, and I'm feeling unmotivated. I need to fuel this rage-filled corpse that I live in, and conflict is the only way to do it! tears of joy

Zegras-Matthews-Nylander
Terry-McTavish-Bedard

Not a bad top 6, eh?

Edit: Probably hiring Dubas as AGM after Toronto lets him go in a week as well...

Yeah, but, how will ANA ever be able to afford Bedard's 37M a year 4 years from now when they have Matthews on the books?

Or do they not promote this kind of nonsense in the California media?

By then Montreal will have OS'd him for a 2nd round pick.

Silferberg isn't a fit in Vacouver, but might consider him with at least $2M retention.
