Quoting: Claesson4Norris
Ottawa finally has a strong blueline, why would they blow it up like this? Especially for such a terrible return.
Chabot has warts defensively, but he's one of the best Dmen in the league at driving offense. He's a massive reason Ottawa was ever close to the playoffs this season. I don't know how you trade a player like that before you see what he can do with this team fully healthy, especially with a real NHL coach. Chabot has played his entire career under three head coaches, Guy Boucher, Marc Crawford and DJ Smith.
Quoting: Minnachu
understandable. Just nervous with cap management, winger depth, and well goaltending.
I haven't watched a lot of Sens hockey since the Chychurn acquisition.....
There is merit is moving Chabot for the stated reasons here (it's a good contract, fairly young and goooood), BUT.......
Had Chychurn been playing RD? If so, has he looked out of place (this was a concern of many)
Can Sanderson and Chychurn replace the playoffs driving abilities of Chabot? (Sometimes spreading that out proves to be more)
Is Bernard-Docker and/of Thomson ready to make the jump? (This would put Bränsström on the left.side here)
How sold is the organization on Sogäard? (Under the impression he IS the guy, just not ready) where signing Raanta maybe a bit much.....
Soooo many questions to answer before going down the move Chabot rabbit hole.
